How To Prevent A/C Repair Problems

After the last few posts we’ve shared, you should now know that changing your air filter is one of the best ways to prevent air conditioning repair problems. However, that is not the only way. So, here are a few tips to help you do everything you can to prevent costly air conditioning repair services.

#1 | Turn off the air when you cut grass near your outdoor unit. This helps to prevent blades of clippings from getting sucked into the the coil and causing damage to the air conditioner or heat pump. It’s also a good idea to check around the unit and remove overgrowth and debris since you’re already out there.

#2 | Stay on top of pest control. Ants and bugs tend to enjoy the dark areas around the electrical components of your air conditioner. Unfortunately, their presence can actually cause the unit to break down. So, it’s generally a good idea to maintain a protective layer of insecticide around the base to prevent infestation and unnecessary damage.

#3 | Get a maintenance agreement. This proactive approach to maintenance will help you be sure that any potential damages are caught and repaired before they become larger issues. Getting a biannual tune up from a licensed and experienced air conditioning repair company can save you serious money in the long run. So, call 702.227.5622 to schedule your appointment today.

  1. Thank you for the advice, Krystyna; I hadn’t thought of turning off the AC unit when we’re cutting the grass. We have been experiencing minor problems with our air conditioning, and we’re not sure what the problem is. My husband has noticed the unit dripping a bit, but I’m not sure if that’s normal or not. Should we look into getting our unit repaired?
